Is it cheating to take your blood glucose before you get out of bed? I have been borderline for 2 to 3 years but 2 weeks ago a fasting test at my doctors showed it was 7.7. Doctor said i was definately diabetic. So i put myself on a 800 - 900 calorie diet with carbs as low as i could go which is usually less than 40 gms carbs. I have 10 stone to lose
and in the 10 days i have been doing it i have lost 14 lbs. Now to get back to my original point, my testing bloods in the morning was after a shower etc and they were coming back in the 7.4's to 8.9's. Then i read on here about the dawn bump so started taking them after cleaning my finger whilst i was still in bed. They then went to 6.8, 6.1 and today to my shock 5.5. Does it give you a truer picture of what is happening if i do it before getting out of bed or after morning ablutions. Thanks in advance of any reply. i appreciate any help..
