I have been trying very hard to lose weight and I think I have cracked it at last.
I am having just cheese and coffee with cream for breakfast a very small piece of Cheesen no lunch and in the evening a small portion of meat or a ham 1 slice salad.
This really took place from February 8th and I have gone from 16.11 down to 15.7. My trousers are falling off me, everyone who knows me have asked me whats happening as I look great , what have I been doing this has made me feel and look much better. But sometimes I just don't want to eat as I have become ashamed of my body.

At last I now know when I am hungry.
I have such a over hanging stomache and rolls of fat under my armpits and above my waist as I just want to get rid of it.
I haven't done keytones and my glucose reads 7 but I feel shaky like I am a 1.3 once and I had to have a tea with sugar cause I had nothung else tell me what you think please friends

If that is all you are eating I am not surprised you feel a bit off. Why only a small piece of meat at dinner? To me that is a starvation diet. Keto is very low carb, high fat, and normal protein. You seem to have the low carb right, but not the rest.

I dont have high fat because it runs straight through me, I am at mt dsughters now and she did me half an advacado, with cheese, half a jacjet potato and two sluces of ham and butter on potato.
I ate a bit of potsto and ham and advacado but I am constanly in fear of putting on weight.
Thank you fir your reply.

Then why eat potato?

I have lost 3 1/2 stone since October from walking ( not as much as I should) and diet. I generally only eat once a day but I really would not be happy on your quantity of food. After my evening meals im blasted.

Example,

Fridays fau pizza was a 3 egg omelette topped with a sliced chorizo sausage (all of it 200g, 0.8g carb) and shredded bacon, tomato and some spring onions with a squidge of tomato paste as a base on the omelete. Looked for all the world like a normal pizza.
Then afters was 3 generous tablespoons of set bio Greek yogurt (3.6g/100) with 2 tablespoons of peanut butter (11g/100) and some lovely extra thick double cream I found in Saino's.

I was stuffed after. By my rough count, 10-15g of carbs, Wont put an ounce on you and wont touch your bg ( well doesent touch mine). Not loads of for the sake of it fat either, just good natural stuff in the foods.

Thank you for your reply, so one meal a day as long as I have a good meal thank you.

Works for me, I do normally have a snack handy for if I do get hungry as I don't have a lot of fat left so my body can get a bit antsy.
Nothing special, beansprouts with a shake of salt and chilli is a favourite. Sliced cucumber and soft cheese another. Just something to keep the stomach busy and the mind happy.
Both all but zero in carbs so keto safe.

Then you need to eat as much fat as you can manage, and increase your protein. Sorry to be blunt, but a sparrow wouldn't survive on those amounts, and a Bluetit certainly wouldn't! You run the risk of upsetting your metabolism and vitamin and mineral deficiencies.

So far today I have had coffee with cream, a bag of salad 240 gm at 3.1percent carbs, with coleslaw, about 1/5th the pack and a small tin of tuna in brine. I could have had a tomato too, but it is still sitting there as I could barely manage the salad.
That is a typical first meal of the day - and it keeps me going until dinner time.
I am not losing weight now, but I am losing floppy bits. I need to remake all my kilts again as my waist is still shrinking and kilts in particular need to be fitted correctly - my trousers flap around but I just haul the drawstring in a bit more.
I really do advise avoiding high carb foods such as potato and eating things which are classed as salad, or described as above ground vegetables, first of all for the vitamins and minerals they contain, secondly for their bulk and thirdly for the rich variety of taste and visual opulence they provide.
Having been put on low calorie diets over and over again during my lifetime I found that my body soon learned to shut down and wait out the famine situation. These days I eat about 1/4 of my daily carbs first thing and then the rest later when my insulin resistance is lower.

If you add the fats into the diet more slowly, a bit at at time and spread through the day it might help. Your body will usually adjust if you give it chance to catch up.

I don’t think you’re eating enough really and at some point your body will let you know with at best a stall at worst deficiencies. I know its tempting to lose weight as fast as possible but steady and long term is far better. And on keto it’s usually reasonably quick anyway without starvation levels.

As for the feeling weird. What were your bloods before eating this way? If they’ve dropped rapidly it could be a false hypo. As you’ve only just started keto it could also be keto flu. Are you getting enough electrolytes (salts). This way of eating cuts almost all out typical intakes from processed foods and as we retain less water we need to drink more and replace lost electrolytes. It could also be just not enough food.

@Motherhen2014 - others have said, your current regime is not enough to sustain you over anything like the longer term.

What your daughter prepared for you sounds great, but as others have suggested, I'd have left the potato. Ok potatoes were never really my thing, so I find that bit easy, but maybe I just got a bit lucky there.

Just touching on your issue with fats. I believe, like all else, we each have a personal threshold for how much fat we can eat (just like sugar, alocohol ir whatever), and I have to be a little bit careful too.

If I eat too much cheese at breakfast, I can have indigestion. If I eat way too much fat at breakfast I have additional loo time. Within reason, my system copes a bit better with fats later in the day. Although to be fair, if I really overdo it, I know about it

Maybe you need to experiment with that a wee bit too?

I'm so glad you're losing some weight, but don't be in a rush for it to happen ultra quickly as our bodies can struggle to keep up with it, in terms of our skin shrinking with us. Of course beyond some magical age, our skins ping back less well anyway, but we don't need to be adding to that hassle.

When first diagnosed, I didn't have much trimming to do, but it happened very quickly for me and as a result my upper arms are now poor. It's not the end of the world, and if I were vain enough could have them "done", but for now, I won't bothering the surgeon's knife.

Again, a big well done, but take it steady.

Thank you so much, I will take heed of your advice.

After reading your very nice message to me, I have took steps today, I now have no sugar in my drinks and had a boiled egg and a cup of coffee this morning for breakfast and for lunch a quarter of roast chicken ate a bit of the skin for fat and ate nearlt half a large salad with a little colslaw sweetcorn but only a few corns, onion pepper and lettuce.
That is all I will eat for today and believe me I am finding it hard to eat that. I have lost two inches off my waist. Two inches off my chest and four inches off my hips, my stomache was 53 inched and has gone down. to 47 inches.
So I am really pleased with my results and want to maintain a good weight loss.
Thank you once again for your concern and help.

You’ll receive great advice here that’ll cause you to lose weight for life rather than the ugly rebounds of caloric deprivation.

Fat: your stomach will adjust if you add healthy fats slowly and remove the sugars.

You’ll eat lots of great foods and lose the weight without hunger or slowing metabolism.
