Is LCHF the same as the keto diet ?

Sausages. I look for a high meat percentage. M and S do some at around 97 pc. I try and get over 80 pc and then look at the carbs.

Although gluten free is often junk for sausages it avoids the breadcrumbs issue. Sausages vary a lot in carbs. I can usually find some under 2%

I went to the diet doctor website and it seems to talk about them both as if they are the same .

The focus of LCHF/Keto/Intermittent Fasting/Extended Fasting...is to lower our insulin level to the point where we are able to regain access to our fat store. This helps to stabilize our glucose level and restore metabolic flexibility.

In the context of T2D this is in recognition of the fact that too much a good thing (amplified insulin response, hyperinsulinemia) for too long (years/decades) has not serve us well...and that simple carbs has the greatest influence on glucose/insulin response. While fats and proteins minimal.

So we leverage on different levels of fats and proteins to provide satiety to achieve our waist loss and glucose stability goals.

I buy Hecks sausages from Sainsburys or Tesco. 97% meat and just over 1g carbs per sausage. They are quite big so I only need 1 sausage.

Your food choices look very good to me. As a change from sardines, you could try tinned salmon and don't drain it.

Keep it up, you are doing really well. It is just a shame you are anxious about testing - you do have a meter and I urge you to keep trying with it. Eating to what your meter says is the best way to learn how your body reacts.

M&S and Waitrose as well as most of the other supermarkets do a high content meat sausage (97%) usually 12 full size sausages for £5 in both M&S and Waitrose.
