Having been diagnosed with T2 diabetes in late 2012, I too suffered adversely from cramps and flatulence, and some very "close calls" in getting to a toilet in time before the flatulence ejected the faeces from me with explosive force. Having regularly been afflicted with the same, after using Metformin, I found a solution in Charcoal tablets from my local pharmacy, (sold in 100 tabs.) This relieved the bloated feeling , and the risk of accidental explosive release. Hope it finds some relief for you also.
