rude d/n nurses and being treated like im wierd because im diabetic
i was reading up on the use of fats in meal plans, and I was bit confused as to how much to use, as I didn't use much butter/bacon/meats etc before getting t2 , and continuing to lose weight on this, do u use oils like cocnut oil bacon and meats and what is a reasonable amount to use each day to continue the weight loss thankyou xx

There are some on the forum who low carb and high fat although i kind if try and limit fat to a certain extent. I dont worry how much bacon and i use olive oil for pretty much everything. If u look around at other posts the message seems to be fat doesnt make u fat and the weight loss will come from cutting the carbs. I always use butter because its healthier

I do low fat, due to high cholesterol, but we are all different.
It works for me...I use olive oil as well a small amout.

If you can use unsaturated fat with omega 3 oils, but don't worry too much about the saturated fat you might use in every-day cooking. Yes, low-carb to help with weight loss and enough fat to give you the calories you need plus flavour and enjoyable tasting food.

As Kat said we are all different. I do not suffer from Familial Hypercholesterolemia and I found that an increased fat/oil intake actually reduced my LDL and Trigs and increased my HDLs. I don't over fat my food merely don't remove the natural fats/oils and stick to butter over "low fat spread".

thanku for ur help . I aim to carry on using olive oil but will replace the marg for butter and use bacon and cream etc in cooking. from here on , getting tierd of bland chicken and fish so will see what I can do thanku guys xx
