Is the cgm a constant needle?

Now this is funny, I am a type 1 diabetic but am afraid of needles still. I use them sure but I still am afraid of them. So my Dr wants me to use the CGM. Is it a needle that is always in my body?
 
Yes it stays in your arm or with me I had it where your love handles are I had it for a week to monitor blood sugars every half hour or so so they can download it and look at where your hypos are coming in and where your high Points are. They also asked me to keep a diary of what I ate when I ate it and how many units I injected for that meal

I guess it depends exactly what you and your partner get up to, but I used one continuously for 8 months and never had any issues with my partner. I guess you could wrap a bandage around it if you were really concerned, but the worst that can happen is it just stops working if you're too rough with it....
 
It might depend on where the cgm is and preferred positions. I guess you can have fun working it out.
 
I know my libre didn't complain when I had my blood pressure taken - I wasn't really paying attention at the time and didn't notice til afterwards that the nurse put the armband thing right over my sensor, I think the manufacturers are just covering their backs.
 
That's useful to know thanks. I have my diabetic review coming up soon and if I get distracted I needn't worry too much about forgetting to tell the DN to use the other arm.
 
Its not a needle no, its a tiny filament about the thickness of a human hair. Most are put on arms these days, I've been using them for 5 years and had plenty of really good (and not so good) sex.
 
I use a Dexcom CGM. The “ needle” really doesn’t cut it as a needle. It’s so fine you need to hold it up against a light to see it.
More like a hair and no type a needle.
I sleep on it, the grandkids jump all over me, I workout daily, I knock it and it doesn’t stops me doing anything. My current sensor has been in place for almost 4 weeks and still working.
It does stop me having sex occasionally but that’s only when the alarm goes off to say my sugars are low. Strongly suspect though that my wife has figured a way of setting the alarm off remotely .

Should not be a problem unless the latex or bondage suit your wearing is too tight then it might give false readings, but other than that you can certainly get jiggy with it and it will remain in place unless again you have it in a position on your body that your other half may hold on, could, I guess loosen it.
