I’ve recently had my first 3 monthly review, by phone, with a nurse from my medical centre.
I was surprised when she stated she didn’t know why she was calling me, so suggested it might be because I’d had a blood test a couple of weeks before….
Anyway, I asked her whether I could be referred to the low carb program as I have struggled with low carb food ideas that don’t include eggs. She agreed to look into it.
I can see from her notes that she has now referred me for the nhs low calorie shake and soup diet, something which I definitely don’t want to do since the artificial sweeteners in meal replacement shakes have upset my stomach on the numerous times I’ve tried them before, plus I hate soup!
I’m trying to find out if the program is available ‘on prescription’ in Nottingham/Nottinghamshire.
