hi
been diagnosed as diabetic last week , sounds silly questions but.......... is there anyway a skin inflammation can cause blood sugars to go up , making it look like your diabetic but not really a diabetic . ??????

or is the skin rash inflamtion because of diabeties , I still have a skin rash , itching burning ect , I have had it for 4 months , but only diagnosed last week ,,, previous to that I was a borderline diabetic 6.5

If you have been officially diagnosed by your GP as being diabetic then the chances of you not being so are remote. However denial is common as diabetes is not called the silent killer for nothing and many people can be diabetic and not know it for a many months or even years in some cases, I myself was diagnosed with bg levels of 29 mmol/L plus and an HbA1c of 12.6% and felt almost perfectly OK.

The first step to controlling it is to accept it once you can do that you CAN deal with it but if you ignore it it will bite you.

Hope this helps in some small way.

I think it's more likely that the skins problems are made worse by diabetes. Slow healing is a common symptom :(
