I had a kidney stone a few years ago and it was analysed as being 95% oxalate, so I was advised to avoid high oxalate foods To prevent reccurrence. There are other types of kidney stones that aren’t high in oxalate, so unless the OP knows what their kidney stone was made of avoiding oxalates may not be necessary.

I'm a metformin user of many years duration @mousemat and have not noticed any increase in urine output.

Aside from drinkng plenty of water and water-based beverages like tea and coffee every day, have you tried any specific dietary changes to help with a history of kidney stones? For instance, patients are often advised to avoid foods with a high oxalate or sodium content, such as almonds, rhubarb and spinach.
