Is there any advice on dealing with IBS and type 2 diabetes?

Welcome to the forum @SueS1972
We can't give medical advice because we're not medically trained but I am allowed to share my own personal experience.
Not long after I was diagnosed I found this forum and decided to give low carb a try. It worked wonders for my sugar levels, in less than 6 months I had lost over 2 stone and my hba1c was back to non diabetic levels. IBS had also ceased to be a problem, it just seemed to disappear along with the acid reflux and the need for lansoprazole

As the above poster says we can't give medical advice only share experience and give suggestions. In general low carb works well for type 2 with the very important exception of those on medications that directly lower blood sugar as those two combined can be cause dangerously low blood sugar.

Have you tried a restricted diet for the IBS? A month on beef butter bacon and eggs is very easy on the gut, and is certainly low carb. If that works then you could keep that as the basis and then gradually add other foods in and see how you react.

Going slightly off-topic ..Metformin makes me ✻windy✻ ..so I'm prescribed Peppermint Oil capsules ..(the packaging reads 'IBS Relief') ..it might be an idea to discuss the matter with your pharmacist for proper medical advice.
