Philip, obviously you need to keep to a diet that is appropriate for your condition. For the moment perhaps it might be a good idea to get the insulin right for the diet.The type of insulin you are using is also very much better used with regular mealtimes so that the peak of the insulin matches your mealtimes. If your levels are creeping up then talk to your nurse/gp about how to adjust your insulin for your diet. Go back to the dietitian and ask for specific advice From what I read a low gi diet isn't appropriate for you either so I really think that you need specialist input.I take Novomix 30 FlexPen 24units am and 16pm and my sugars are not dropping even on this they are creeping up
I have got to the point where I am not taking my insulin and my sugar levels are still up for example on 15/05/09 they were 17.9 before breakfast I had breakfast 2 hrs after taking BS and that was a ham sandwich and then I took it again before luch and it was 26.0
