The difficulty here is that one arrives in this place somewhat confused and in search of answers. The only answers on offer, are by and large, lo-carb. And the problem with that, at least in my case, is that reduced carb does seem to work. I've lost nearly a stone and got my Bg down to a level that keeps Diabetic Dotty happy. And more importantly, I don't feel I've made any significant changes, I do feel that even if I'm not in total control that I'm getting there. Mrs Deadwood says the change has been radical, but I don't see it.. I just eat a bit less rice, pasta, potato, bread, etc., and make up for it with proper cooked breakfasts once in a while, a bit of cheese, hell's teeth even a pork pie. No hardship. Apart from the lettuce, that's a hardship. Admittedly the readings were interesting yesterday (chicken curry, sag aloo(sp?), chick pea dahl, rice, naan & a chapatti the night before), but hey - you're a long time dead. Today they're back on track, and that includes a death burger with cheese mid afternoon. As for the unrestricted carb route, I don't see anyone championing it - and by that I don't mean sitting back smugly and keeping the secret to themselves whilst denigrating the lo-carbers - I mean someone who actively encourages a high or unrestricted carb dietary approach and suggests how it may be achieved. I may have missed it, of course. So, yes, bring it on; it can't be any less edifying than arguing about the utility of a forum that never really got started. (And yes I know I said it wasn't helpful, and yes, I still stick by my conclusion that as yet there is nothing of any use in it).
