I've just looked it up through google.
One such a bar has 29 grams of carbs of which 24 grams are pure sugar.
That's a lot of sugar/carbs to have in one go!
So yes, I'd say it's to be expected for a T2 to have elevated blood glucose after such a bar.
Would you like suggestions for foods that won't make you rise like that?
@HannahP88: Yes - as a long time diet controlled T2 if I ate a similar amount of carbs in one go (which would be over half I what I actually eat in a day) then I would definitely expect to see a similar rise. My body does not like or cope well with too many carbs...
Yep, for such an amount of carbs, I'd expect a spike to last me a while... Is it normal for a diabetic? Yeah. Is it unhealthy? Yes. So maybe not have those anymore. Maybe a CarbKilla bar would be better?

Yes, perfectly normal for the amount of sugar you've taken in one go.
If your system is handling the carbs you've taken in, the "test after two hours" would show you being not more than 2 mmol/l higher than your start point and not above 7.8. Obviously your results (6.5 to 12.3) meet neither of these criteria.
If I got a result like that I wouldn't be going near whatever food item it was. If I'm travelling and have no other options I take salami, cheese and nuts with me.
