sometimes not all the time blood appears in urine, however everyday the urine shows bubbles in and sometimes can look foamy, had a diabetic check 10th June and there was high levels of blood in urine, following day was asked to send in 2 urine bottles one was a red top other one was white, those got tested came back normal, today my urine was not with blood yet shown high levels of bubbles and bit foamy the color was not good it was a little dull so i went to my doctor to see what it could be, i got told my first urine was high with blood , the other 2 was normal, yet she refused to check my urine today and said it is normal and did not seem concerned to follow up anything..my point is, if high readings of blood appear in urine different days of the week plus bubbles appear all the time, do i worry or not, and should the doctor of asked me to have regular checks? the reason i say this, i researched on the symptoms for kidney disease even bladder cancer, and some symptoms are similar to mine, and i know infections and other things can cause blood in urine, though if it is not being treated or taken serious from my GP, how am i supposed to feel if something does need looking in to and i am not being taken seriously. how would you deal with this, or have you dealt with this before?

Go back to the doctor and explain that this is NOT normal and you would like some advice. Failing that ring the new helpline and/or go to A&E or a walk in centre or another doctor and get a second opinion.

It's like that advert when the model spits out blood after brushing teeth - it isn't normal!

BUT Don't Panic, it could be just nothing, but you do want to know eh. :)

I know there is something wrong, however i know that some one i know has had blood in there urine and is being watched closely by the same gp every 2 weeks and now has been referred to a urineoligist, my point is if some one no matter how old, what color they are, where they are from, they should be treated seriously like anyone else, i noticed also the receptionist said to a lady the only available appoint she could have was on a friday next week, and not long after another woman wanted a appointment for bp and got told she could be seen the Monday next week, i think people are being picked out, who is more urgent to others or it is a case of who is worth helping or not, and that is very sad and upsetting g for anyone to have to go through.i think this is happening to different people anywhere.

Get the print outs of the results. Second opinion is a good idea.

it must be worrying, so you must get a print out of the results and then ask for a second opinion.

Several years ago, long before diabetes, a trace of blood was found in my urine sample on a routine test. It was only a trace and not visible to the eye. I was referred for an ultrasound check on my kidneys and for a camera into my bladder. Everything was A1 normal. I was told it is very common and usually something and nothing, and my Googling confirmed this. I stress this was a microscopic trace only, but my point is that my GP made the referrals for the further tests, so I believe yours should, too.

thank bluetit1802, your right what your saying, even a small trace can be worrying, the way she put it over and she is not my gp the doctor i normally see was not there today, however she did say it was high the blood and i would of theought from that it would be followed up, her attitude today was not very helpful and she did say i would rather see you in 6 months time and look at it then, and i know that the person i know who has seen her that had blood in urine she was on the ball with and kept monitoring and showing good care, i just felt my health did not matter to her, i came home in tears, it did upset me a lot because i know my body i know when something does not feel right and when i speak up, it is like i am not being heard or took seriously and it is difficult to deal with, some days i just feel like giving up like there is no hope, it can be difficult when the support should be there from a doctor, and it is not.

My advise, go back and see your doctor, and ask a simple question: If the tests are normal then what is causing it? if the answer is that they don't know, then you need more tests to find out.

It is probably something simple like a kidney stone or an infection, but we are always being told that an early diagnosis of anything is best.

Go and insist they tell you what is wrong or make an effort to find out. Hopefully it is nothing to worry about and easily cured.
