Ok so I had my dinner at 6pm blood sugar was 13.2 and I took 5units of novorapid(I had 3 potatoes, veg and mackerel followed by a plum) tested again at 7:38pm and it was 14.1. Also tested at 8:50pm and it was 13.6.

So my question is would the 5units have been enough. I am learning to count carbs I printed of the info that someone here gave me a link.

Also my sugar levels were pretty high earlier and my nurse gave me 15units novorapid

No, should I have taken a correction for it?

Yes, because if your just injecting enough insulin to match the carbs in your meal then your postprandial bg levels are just going to be the same as they were pre-prandial....whch in your case they were.

The BDEC site will cover all this if you register and complete the course, but try and get on a carb counting course such as DAFNE as they go into all this in great detail.

Ok if just filled in all my details. Thanks :)

Have just taken my levemir so hoping sugars will come down. Should I take a correction now.

12yrs with diabetes and I'm realizing I know nothing about it

That's your call and only you can decide, but much depends on how your bg levels usually behave overnight, if they usually fall then you will have to be careful.

I will see how it is overnight, maybe do a test before I go asleep and during the night. That way I can know for future
