It is terribly sad ...

The OP felt it necessary to edit her thread, which was such a shame. It's about a type 1 having a moan about type 1 things that were relevant to her and how she felt about it ................. as far as I could see.

Still not sure how my personal experience can be offensive.

Yes @Robinredbreast , I saw the first thread, both before and after the edit.
And I read the entire thread with amusement.

At the moment, I'm also quite amused that this subject has been raised, again, in a second thread - in a way that will probably start the whole 'discussion' off again, except that this time we will have 2 threads running simultaneously.

Seems rather unnecessary, to me.

I actually found the blog entries, so I'm new to all this blogging lol. As a blog is more hidden away and not on the big screen, so to speak, they may not have have as much impact on members, just a thought though
Take care.

That's the whole point though. If you want to rant and not have to read the reactions/disapproval of others you can do it in a blog. It's still a rant even if not many read it and they can't wreck the whole thing with silly comments all the way through. (heading over to @nosher8355 blogs right now.....)

Yes you are correct, but it has somehow, deemed a negative snowball effect and also a mountain and a molehill comes to mind. Sometimes I have to keep looking at the thread to make sure it is a type 1, having a moan about living with type 1, in her own personal experiences.
The more I think about it, I think I would stand proud and tall and have the thread as the original title

Behave!

I don't have a blog, never even thought about it until nosher pointed it out, so I had a look

That thread was posted when I was new now I posted this in the type 1 section. There wasn't editing on my original post except the title and the part where I said what not to say to me as a diabetic otherwise everything is exactly as originally posted .

I see you feel it is unnecessary which is fine . I guess you can ignore then . As it has felt necessary for me .

Being type 1 of course any rant would be from a type 1 perspective, same as if I ranted (moi? never!) it would be from a type 2 perspective...although there would be an certain amount of cross over issues. How can anyone moan about that?

Blimey that'd be like me moaning about Millwall on the football thread and the Arsenal supporters moaning I was leaving them out.

But surely, a rant; particularly a rant someone is saying is personal to them, is more about just "verbalising" it than affecting others? If the purpose of a rant is to draw attention to oneself and ones unhappiness, then a main board thread will achieve greater visibility.

Maybe I don't understand ranting. Perhaps I should get some practise in.

lol and when have you ever heard we gooners moan, huh?

@Anaelena I've read all of your posts so far, commented a few times, have not been offended in any way shape or form, there is no pleasing some people.

If I see something on the forum I don't agree with or dislike I just don't go back to that thread, I don't feel the need to berate the OP or others that have posted in it... sadly some people don't think like that though

I think you're an amazing person with what you have gone through and your 'rant' made me smile my husband has type 1, I'm not diabetic but I'd still like to say, if you don't mind, that if you ever need anyone to talk to, I'm here.

Hey Analaena

I got criticised too!!

Don't worry... Honest... You have a genuine warmth and experience and that shines through to me above all else!!

And I enjoyed your rant and boy I should do a rant in here sometimes instead of going off at a tangent with my hubby!!

One thing for sure is that we all passionately care about our diabetes and how we are "forced" to live with it.....

Yes to all of your quote. If you see from my posts on both threads, I am fully behind the OP in her rant. I only mentioned a blog because of Nosher's comment, as this is the 'big screen' for all to see and a blog is something you have to find. so a blog is less visual and therefore may not have the same impact ( which I said earlier). A rant is good, good for the diabetes soul, it is my second job, but unfortunately an unpaid one
I personally would rather post on the main forum, as I have done for a few years, as I am not a 'blogger'.
