Italian Holiday

Fegato alla Veneziana if you can get it in Sorrento.. Liver and onions to us less linguistically proficient..

Lucky you! :) Italians eat a lot of meat (beef, veal, I've even seen horse steak in restaurants!), cheese and cured meats, and lots of salads and grilled veg. Just try to keep the gelato to less than every meal ;) !

thanks for your invaluable advice. Most impressed with your HbA1c and BMI status since last year.

Thank you! This forum has helped me immensely. I hope you're enjoying your holiday! Ciao! :)

I'm going to Rome in October and was wondering the same - Pizza, Pasta, Gelati, Panini, it's going to be tough, but then I remembered most of my favourite cheese is italian - Ricotta, Mascarpone, Gorgonzola, Parmesan, Mozzarella etc, The cured meats are possibly the best in the world, and my favourite stew / salad dish is Caponata, but would like to try the genuine Italian version.

I'm wondering how much I'm going to enjoy going to France in Aug, as all the family usually base it around food, and that does involve Croissants in the morning, French Bread with cheese / meat / pate at lunch and eating out in the evening. Will have to stick to very thin crackers with cheese and pate and only have croissants if going for a big bike ride or swimming session I suppose. I can't deprive my whole family of French bread, and I'm sure I wouldn't be able to resist the temptation if it was around.

Mind you, to the barely concealed jealousy of my wife, I usually come back from holidays weighing less and she more.

I went to France last year and mangaged to stick pretty much to my lchf regime. I took some ground flax seed with me so I could make crackers and had these in the morning loaded with yummy French cheeses and meats and local olives. Thought I would be tempted by bread and croissants but actually, on the whole I was not.
Portugal and Italy this year. I am half Italian so am expecting this to be more challenging. But will try my best.
Happy holidays
