After over 2 years on Lantus & Novorapid I've had an appointment with a specialist who has offered me a way forward :
novorapid (from 3x8units) gone!
Lantus from 10 units to 8 units, and the possibility of reduction to gone and onto tablets if needed!
I don't fancy going cold turkey re novorapid so I propose to wean myself off over next two weeks!
Has anyone had experience of this? and what is their advice? I kno that nurse will try to help but I feel safer on here with friends. Thanks, Fergus
edit:
Still forging onward at 8 units Lantus each evening (would prefer a nice single malt!!).Now my pre meal tests coming in at mid 5s with an occaisional 6.
Was averaging 6.1-6.2 but on starting a new pen it has fallen- must have been going off - must be carefull, 8 units / 300units is over a month!
Keep Smiling - It makes the b*ggers wonder what you've been up to!
