That's how I now see diabetic diet.
I think many, if not most, of us wouold agree that the fewer carbs you eat, the better.
We know that zero carbs is difficult to achieve. ( it's been shown not to be harmful)
Some of us have found we can adapt to low carb 30g -50g per day fairly easily. I do that most days, but do occasionally slide off the wagon. I had the batter off the "chippie" fish on Friday and a chip or 2
Some people find this doesn't suit them.perhaps because the don't want to give up most carbs and can cope with some.
Some people, mainly insulin users, find they prefer to eat what they like and "Cover" with medication.
The only thing that is certain to most of us is that good control means low BG numbers, lower than the medics and Diabetes Uk quote.
My aim and that of a good few is to achieve HbA1cs in the 5s. That is near the non-diabetic norm of about 4.6%
Many medics would regard that as impossible or caused by multiple hypos.
It's up to us to prove them wrong.
