It's not a competition but feeling fed up

Thank you for your understanding, and all the best for the future.

Going to try the reheat carb approach on him as that would not make his foods too different. Doctors called today to say they want him to have another blood test for cholesterol as the first one went wrong. so what joy.

That's a hell of a lot to cope with and you have put it very eloquently.
Does your husband really know how you feel ?
How about writing something like this for him ? Sometimes seeing it in black and white can have an effect.
Sending hugs x

Daisy, sorry I didn't answer yesterday. Yes, he does. But like so many, although he doesn't say it specifically, he thinks nothing bad will happen to him. I'm very much hoping the eye issue isn't serious but have a nasty feeling it may be connected.

HEG - hoping things get easier for you. X

I find that it works best for me if I leave the cooled pasta or potato in the fridge overnight and all the next day until dinner time. I think portion size is important and new potatoes cooked in their skins seems to work better than other potatoes. You could also try making mash with instant potato and putting that in the fridge and then adding some mashed cauliflower when re-heating to cut the bulk. I check my blood before I eat and then after one then two hours and so far there has not been a spike. However, it's a journey so every little step forward helps. Best of luck.

I have been guilty of trumpeting my success - in dropping from 100+ at diagnosis to 41 after six months - to my Scottish T2 neighbour. I have eaten out with him where he blatantly enjoys a Baileys bread-and-butter pudding while I have cheese. His nightcap is a glass or three of scotch. In short like the OP's other half, he is doing most things wrong. When I met him over the garden fence last week, smugly enquiring about his latest A1c, he said " it's come down so far they've halved my medication".
Too right life ain't fair!
