Huh ! Who is this Sid Blinkers anyway.
As for Acron, son of Xenon, was an eminent Greek physician. No, this guy ain't in the same league. If you pair have got nothing better to do than come over here on a Saturday afternoon and take a pop at that babe Hanadr and then Sue and Cugila you must be a sad pair. Those people have done more good on this forum than you are ever likely to.
All the good people on here are sick of this bickering, get a life or should that be diabetes for life ??
Pass the pipe and slippers anybody. Two sugars in my coffee and make sure I get a big portion of cake. Let's all watch the butterfly's play in the Sun. Has anybody seen poohbear, I think his little label came off and he got lost in transit, pity that mate of his lonevad wasn't with him too. They could have had a couple of words together ?? All presided over by the great wordsmith himself
Buts. :D

Karen and Sandy, chill out babes, they ain't worth wasting your breath on.

I'm type 1, I have no choice but to inject, even with the strictest regime (which I relax through personal choice) I will need a basal jab along with many others.

I've never found Hana anything other than supportive of me and others and in no way sarcastic or critical of me and my medication, but then maybe I've never been offensive to her either.

I am an idiot becuase I dont really understand whats going on here. But I do know that I have tried immensely hard on 40 carbs a day for 3 months (reducing from about the thousands of carbs per day) to get my levels between 4 and 7 and I have only managed to get them between 7 and 10 (ocassionally 6 and occasionally 11). I am in such a dilema as I soooooooo dont want to take meds and want sooooooooooooo much to sort this by diet but its so hard as there is no rules and everyones body is different and sometimes bg goes up when logically it should go down.

But I keep thinking I should take the meds which is what I think those more experienced on the forum have been advising me. I feel like I am giving in by getting the meds, and I dont want to, but I dont want to have complications or no legs or eyesight. Diabetes sucks. You try and try and try and it doesnt always help. I hope I havnt offended anyone here, I dont think I have "taken sides" here as I'm not really sure what the sides are? I dont always understand people, thats why I'm an idiot, but I want to be an idiot with legs and sight.

Red,I don't take meds, that is my choice. At the moment I control my diabetes and keep down below 8's even after meals. If the day comes however when I cannot control it by diet I will take medication to preserve myself from complications.
My suggestion is to try medication and see what difference it makes.Discuss the options with your doctor as you obviously need extra help.
Take on board some of the suggestions from here and work will the diet and the meds ,see if it makes a difference. You have not failed ,you just need extra help.

Red, some of us have no choice but to take meds, myself included.
It's not a judgement or a sign of weakness or failure, it's just the way the cards are dealt.
If you need 'em, take 'em.

If you don't like Hana's or any one else's style of posting then just ignore the post ,move on and let us get on with the important thing on this board of helping and supporting other diabetics, not fielding unhelpful comments!

I hate to disagree with the Mod, but my feeling is that if you post stuff on a public message board, it's open to comment by other people and much as the poster is entitled to their point of view, other people are entitled to take exception to it. If you can't handle the consequences, don't pipe up.

The original post implies that if you don't keep your BS under 8 at all times, you're an idiot, which seems quite an unnecessary and insensitive thing to say on a board where there are people struggling to achieve levels in single figures at all, and newbies who might be freaked out by the idea that they HAVE to maintain such rigid control at all times, when they might have just been told that their BS is well into double figures.

I know how much those sort of posts upset me and caused me great anxiety when I first came here, so to give a little balance, let me say that I have managed to achieve a Hba1C of 5.9% from a starting point of 11% back in March by cutting carbs right back, and there have been plenty of slip ups, which I didn't feel the need to announce.

Why not just stick to the low carb board with this sort of comment, where people are better able to see it in context?

We went to see Harry Potter and the Half-blood prince last night and I stole ( not really) some popcorn from husband. Of course I ended up with BG off target( 8.2  ) , but got it back down to 5.3 this morning.
I DO KNOW BETTER> It was plain stupid of me, but I gave in to temptation. At least it was salty and not sugar as well.
The movie was good. they got most of the book in very well. The part of the story in the cave made me really jump.

Please re-read Hana's post!!She is quite clearly saying that SHE is the idiot not anyone else. This is Hana's style of posting ,almost blog style. I am not spending another day fielding this discussion!!
I am locking this thread down.
