Hello guys,
I'm just wondering how easy the transition to an insulin pump is, from MDIs?

Thank you all very much

I personally think that the transition from MDI to Pump Therapy is an easy one provided you have the correct Mind Set and willingness to put the work in to get the results with the pump for which it is intended. A pretty direct answer I know but if you scroll through this forum about 5 weeks or so you will see a post or two that I have written this should give you some sort of idea.

For me personally I am glad that i am on pump therapy and have to say that i am still working on getting everything set up correctly on the pump.to meet my needs. One thing i won't do is rush this process so its step by step.

Regards

Martin

Do agree with @rockape37 that it helps if you have the right mindset and determination to make a pump work.

The best advice is to read up on pumps as much as possible, the book Pumping Insulin is a must read for anyone considering moving to a pump or already using one, but there's some good info on the net, on YouTube and here on the forum where members have discussed their transition to pumping insulin.

I got to grips with my pump after about a week but did read up on them a lot and attended the pre-pump sessions with my DSN, but also received some great advice and encouragement from the great members on here who are always helpful.

Good luck and keep us updated on your progress.
