I've come to a decision ...

Good luck hunni,
im doing the same too, i gave it up for lent lol, i went yrs without any but then started to have half a twirl every few days but then felt sorry for the other half so had that lol, keep us informed :)

Thanks all. Well I didn't have any chocolate in work even though a relative brought in mini rolls, a resident had a birthday so we had birthday cake and a colleague offered me a slice of the most beautiful looking chocolate cake ever. Oh and I avoided the chocolate that I took to work to get it out of the house. Even when I went hypo, I still didn't lose my willpower so feeling pleased so far :)

Fantastic well done, I'd have probably used the hypo as an excuse to have a VERY SMALL piece

We do love to fool ourselves don't we? I mean, for years and years I ate everything in sight and chocolate is delicious so it didn't stand a chance of surviving against the onslaught of my ridiculous reasoning. No, I can't have just one no matter what my mind is telling me. Now I will go and stand in front of the mirror and repeat "I can't have just a wee bit" a hundred times! lol...there is no choc in my house either these days.

Great going on the work thing Rosie, really great! Keep it up love and you will be a winner. I have found the only way I can deal with the cravings, which come around to haunt me less and less these days, is distraction. I go do something else. You should see the knitting and crochet I have perpetrated in the last couple of years! Keeps my hands busy and as I have to concentrate on it it keeps my mind busy too

I am so glad when I hear of anyone who's newly pregnant, they get wee knitted stuff whether they want it or not! Soon I am going to run out of beds to put groovy crocheted afghans on......now which neighbours can I shower my gifts on? :D none, we are only surrounded by sheep and cows and for the sheep that would just be coals to Newcastle indeed. ;)

Keep going, you are doing great!

Thanks popsy :) I've just started learning how to knit about a week ago so using that a distraction will really help. I'm used to having chocolate after my meals so will just do some knitting now :)

You could always knit 9 inch squares and make them into blankets for your local hospice. I've started doing this only recently and it keeps my mind off eating while I'm watching TV.

That is a stellar idea Shelly, thanks for the suggestion!

This is so similar to smoking it's scary. You've been brainwashed into believing that having chocolate after your evening meal relaxes you. In reality you are relaxed after your evening meal because it is the end of your working day. The chocolate is secondary.

You can do this, stay strong :)

Good luck. I am type 2 and love chocolate and anything chocolate flavoured. I often go off the rails then feel cross with myself. What I am able to do when I am in the right frame of mind is have a couple of squares of really dark chocolate after a meal. And I don't chew them I let them melt in my mouth so the flavour stays for quite a while

I too let the choccie melt in my mouth! I warn everybody not to talk to me so I can savour the taste for as long as possible! :)

I let the chocolate melt in my mouth. Well I did ... I haven't had chocolate for 6 days now, which is a very long time for me! After my evening meals I keep busy, have a chewing gum as soon as I finish eating and have cheese if I later on feel like munching on something. I still want chocolate but I don't feel desperate for it anymore :)

I also use the cheese tack. At work I sometimes leave earlier than I want to as I know that by the end of the car journey I don't need anything by then. :)
