I've Done It...

Great reductions in HbA1c and weight in just 3 months @Ellenw - well done you! :)
Keep it up and you should be in the non-diabetic range at your next HbA1c test.

Do you have the HDL/LDL/Trigs breakdown?

Statins are supposed to lower LDL, but high LDL should be considered in context and it has been found that for atherosclerosis to occur, oxidised LDL is required - LDL cholesterol on its own won't produce atherosclerosis. The large amount of Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids found in seed oils do the oxidising job very capably, which is why they should be avoided.

LDL level is not regarded as a good indicator of heart health. Low Trigs seem most important, and the ratio Trigs/HDL is thought to give a good indication of heart health. This is discussed elsewhere on this forum...

Butter, animal fats and unheated quality olive oil are good for improving cholesterol health markers.

Well done on your progress!!!

I don't have the breakdown as yet, but hope to get it in the next week or so. Thank you for your informative reply..
