How long have you had diabetes for? Have you been in touch with your hospital diabetes team, to get advice?

I'd start by doing a basal rate test, because if your basal insulin isn't keeping your blood sugar steady in the absence of food, everything else will be out.

I’m in agreement with @Hopeful34. Definitely start with a basal rate test. As soon as that is correct everything else will fall into place pretty quickly. If you have one I’d speak to your diabetes nurse for any advice they may have. Once your basal rate is keeping you steady I’d look at carb counting if you aren’t already. If you can, log what you are eating and insulin given so you can look back and see what your blood sugars were doing and adjust as necessary.

I was told by the pre Ams team that they'd done an emergency referral but I had to leave a message and call them. I have spoke to them and all they said was to change my carbs ratio and call back in 7 days ?
