I've got Lidl rolls

Probably not a good time to say I have a couple in my freezer and being GF I can't even eat them any more, and they're not to my OH's taste.

It must be a regional thing then. The managers of my local area shops have all said they are a discontinued item. Head Office emailed me saying the same.
Think I have about 10 left in the freezer.

There are none in the 2 Lidl's near me and they always had loads. Contents of their normal baskets is now the low GI cob which is no darn use to me.

2/3 of my local Lidl managers said this morning it’s been discontinued. The third, that said they hadn’t, just had an empty basket... they still have the ticket on the shelf edge though...

Nope, none anywhere down here either (after trips here and there). Disaster!! I'm just hoping that what @LittleGreyCat's partner was told, that there are no plans to stop production, is the case. I am jealously guarding the one remaining one in the freezer. I know, @KK123 - I never thought I'd be travelling out of town just to track down a roll (I hate shopping!) , but they've kept me from going to the Dark Side, i.e. scoffing down proper bread from a wonderful local bakery which only uses four ingredients for their bread and has been baking continuously for over 150 years. I really miss good bread....

Non at Accrington no sign on any baskets there were non last week and the man who bakes said that the delivery was Tuesday he didn't know if the rolls would come but obviously they didn't .I e e-mailed lidl it no reply just an acknowledgement so far

None in Clitheroe either, so don't bother travelling over! :bigtears:

Well, double rack of rolls in our new Lidl today.
Went all freezer mad and bought another 10, so I must be edging up the leader board. :-)

As mentioned elsewhere I am going to the Diabetes UK conference in London on Saturday so if anyone else is going and in desperate need of rolls I could bring a few.

Went to Melton Mowbray, our nearest Lidl, round trip over 30 miles. Loads of rolls, I got 22, will keep me going for a while. Hurray.
These rolls are dry filling aren't they.

Sorry peeps! as seen in a Lidl near me yesterdayLidl Rolls.jpg

For security reasons I won't reveal the location, the hole was created by me:angelic:

The plot thickens. I have just had this email from Lidl:

"Thank you for taking the time to contact us regarding the High Protein Rolls.
This item is not available in any of our stores at the moment and I am unable to provide a specific date for its return. I am hopeful that this will be available in the future. In the meantime, I have passed your interest in this item to our Buying Department for their information.

Thank you again for contacting us.

Yours sincerely,
For and on behalf of Lidl UK GmbH"

So it is odd that some stores still seem to be selling them?

Aarrghh!!! Cruel!!! Actually, there could be good news in that pic @walnut_face (and with other reports of rolls in stock) - perhaps it's just a distribution problem? The whole of this area went collectively mad and bought up every single loaf when the Beastly Easterly struck and supplies haven't quite caught up.

The manager of my store told me he had been unable to order a new supply of the dough as it had been removed from the list of bakery stuff. In other words - not available at the moment.

Last time this happened some stores ran out of dough in their freezers a lot earlier than others.

Are there really supermarkets that far north?

Yes there are, and a few houses now have inside toilets although the ash man is still busy cleaning the communal cesspits. ;)
