I've had next to no hyperglycemia but a HbA1c of 10. Huh?

I got my results and I got my clinical review. And the lab results were the wrong ones. You see, this is what happened. I had arranged an early appointment for a fasting blood test. That was for the insanely high triglycerides I mentioned. Unfortunately, someone later jumped to the conclusion a fasting test must mean a request for a fasting glucose test and that is the result reported to me. Just as an FYI, a fasting glucose test is of limited use and is generally not used other than in determining whether someone is diabetic.

The HbA1C was actually the best I've had - an even 7

That must have been a relief for you. Even so, a FBG of 10 is rather high. Well done on getting your best ever HbA1c - onwards and downwards. :hungover::)
