I've just been on holiday but my blood sugar levels are higher than normal I haven't been bad but I have eaten more than I would normally do you know why please

Did you adjust your insulin to account for the extra food?

No because I was not told to but I was at Christmas

If you don't want to adjust your insulin or have been told not to, you can try to copy the amount of carbs you'd have normally at home. Sometimes that may mean leaving food on your plate eg if you were given an enormous bowl of pasta when you normally only have a small one at home, but you can make sure you don't go hungry by having extra salad and veg, etc

Perhaps when you get back home, you could ask your DSN about this and whether you could adjust your insulin next time you go on holiday.

Ok thank you

I find that being out of routine when on holiday can raise my numbers. The difference between getting up at 6.30 and 8.30 can be 2.5. So even with insulin adjustments things still get out of line.
Hope the holiday was great!
