Januvia

I watched a program on Channel 4 last night stating that Januvia could cause Pancranitis or pancreatic Cancer. I have been taking this medication along with Glucophage for the last 3 years.
I am going to immediately stiop taking Januvia and continue with Glucopage.

I have my blood tests each year, but I am concerened about Januvia, what do you think??

Hi there

I stopped taking Januvia for similar reasons. However I did so after consulting my GP. He did not disagree with me at all and was happy to offer alternative meds.

My friend is an attorney in the USA and is involved with a class action against the manufacturers of Januvia.

Most meds have side effects, however an increase in the possibility of cancer is perhaps too much of a risk for most!
I would suggest speaking to your GP before stopping taking your Januvia and raise your concerns.
I hope you are offered a suitable alternative.
