I’m Low Carb, high protein follower, have intolerance to lobster & crayfish family and husband is considering a holiday to Japan, has anyone experienced a holiday in Japan and can share information and recommendations?

We went to Japan last fall, lovely. I had a lot of problems with food though. I am very low carb and also gluten free, so finding anything without soy sauce was hard. I also don’t do seafood….
Gluten free things in Japan are just not a thing.
As a cheese lover I was disappointed….you won’t find much cheese anywhere. Good yogurt was hard to find too.
I did eat a lot of very expensive wagu beef. We also found some good burger places and eating a bunless burger was my go to food. Chicken is easy to get and lots of seafood. Breakfasts at the hotels was hit and miss but I did survive! I did bring some packs of almonds and some low carb protein bars for backup.
Do go, you’ll always find something to eat….it might not be perfect but so worth it overall.
There’s lots of videos of food in Japan and also food found in the 7-11 and family marts.
