Given the national statistics relating to Hba1C levels, I wouldn't be surprised if this was remarkably reflective of the broader Type 1 population :banghead:

I suspect you're right...

I know in the past that I wasn't too different from the people being described but as @Emmotha says it would be nice to see a responsible type 1 regularly testing and injecting etc to promote public awareness...generally speaking we are a bit of a minority group and a good diabetic role model would be great education for all and whether diabetic or not.

If I recall correctly there was a type 1 diabetic in Corrie a few years back...but fairly sure she came to a rather nasty end...can't remember why or how now though.

That's why I think a responsible type 1 character would be good :)

Emmerdale had done it better with Kerry when she drank too much and went into a Coma.

However, its always shows her eating cakes without injecting ... I'd like to see just a little bit of a story about a responsible type 1 to promote awareness

Not so far fetched really, I often enjoy a cake without injecting but I know how I work and can plan for such treats.

Hello to all, I never watched the series, I did not fancy it. I have read all the posts and understand everybody's comments about the way this part of the story was told. After all we have all read about people doing things they have seen on the telly!!!. Let us all hope that this badly shown situation is soon put into the 'not to be shown again' bin, well we can but hope, ttfn from Karen.
