It will help you sort some of your meals and can also give you a boost when you get good results. If you want to loose weight why don't you give Low Carb High Fat (LCHF) a go? A lot of diabetics us it as its low on carbs. There is a thread on the forum for Low Carb Diet, also a thread "What have you eaten today" for some meal ideas. I started LCHF on 30th April this year. I do 18/6 fasting no food after 20.00 till 14.00 next day, with just black tea, coffee, water or vitamin water as needed during fast I also have less than 15 - 20% carbs a day. First month I lost 8.4kg and got Bg down from 16.6 to 7.0 and feel great. I only test Bg twice a day now after 12hr fast again after 18 hrs. Now that I know what foods to steer clear off I don't test before and after meals. It would be a good idea if you kept a food diary if you start LCHF to help you with what foods to stay clear of via your Bg readings. Don't worry about asking questions that's what we are here for to help best we can. We are not medical practitioners but we are diabetics and know what you are going through. Good luck with what ever path you take
