Rant warning.
I was listening to radio 2 this morning and they were banging on about how diabetics have bits of their bodies chopped off at regular intervals, how much it's going to cost the NHS and the general census of opinion is that complications are inevitable and we're all going to die young with bits missing.
Now, I'm single again and back on the dating scene. At 51, I'm often left out of searches on internet sites (unless the searcher is 16 -30 I get a lot of attention from men young enough to be my son) so now I have to decide when I tell any date that if we do end up sharing our lives together, I won't be worth much on an insurance policy! There was no mention of reducing the risks by trying to control my condition and there were lots of stories from people that were all doom and gloom!
Honestly, the things we have to contend with. It won't be long before my hormones let me down and I'll end up looking old but in my head I'll still be 28.
*sigh*
