Type 2 Joint pain

I currently take 2000mg metformin 40mg glicazide in the night when I sit down after work sometimes I can’t get up because the pain is so bad could this be metformin causing this

It's a possibility. I had severe aches and pains in my legs while on Metformin. Local diabetic healthcare team even tried me on the modified release version which didn't help. Once I'd had the Metformin stopped the aches and pains subsided although it did take about a month. Hope things work out for you soon. Good luck.

Are you also taking statins? These have been known to cause joint and muscle pain and are often prescribed, quite unnecessarily in my opinion, to Type 2's as a matter of course.

It's unusual for either Met or Glic to cause joint pains but always possible. Yes, are other meds being taken especially statins?
