I was diagnosed T2 in Feb with HbA1c at 97. I lost weight (26kg), started exercising and went lowish carb (average less than 80g per day. No meds.
My last hba1c about 2 months ago was 39 so I was pretty happy with that.
I do BG testing religiously even though I don’t really need to - I pretty well can tell what the reading will be before I get the result.
My morning readings are always between 5.7 and 6.5, mostly about 6. My readings during the day range from 5.2 to 7, very rarely do I get 7 and just once in 9 months I had a 10.
So I know all these numbers are higher than they should be but pretty good for a diabetic.
My question is this, should I push my doctor for meds to try to push into the normal range? My doctor is reluctant to prescribe. Or are my numbers ok to live with?
