There's a excellent programme which started last week on BBC 3 called Junior Doctors: Your Life in Their Hands which follows 7 newly qualified doctors working in two hospitals in Newcastle. Last weeks episode was a real eye opener into the long hours they endure, mountains of paperwork and difficult patients that they see in A & E.

The second episode is shown on Tuesday evening at 9.00pm and continues for 6 weeks.

Been watching it, captivating telly for once. I have seen all the previous ones over the years too, do you remember the one in the eighties? They caught up with some of them in a programme a while ago and some were no longer Doctors.

No I don't recall the 80's series Ali, the present series is brilliant and last weeks episode was quite upsetting seeing how these young doctors deal with terminal illnesses and death. All credit to them allowing themselves to be filmed in such a stressful environment.

I think i saw a snippet of this last week, a new doctor was running around trying to find where a patient was that had gone into VF.

Is there anywhere to catch up on the net? like channel 4OD? it looked pretty good.

It is available on BBC Iplayer. :)

I've been watching this too. I am very impressed by the interest, keenness, knowledge
and dedication of these junior doctors. Unfortunately some of them will quickly become
disillusioned. :? I liked watching them stitching up bananas for practice. A relation, who's a retired surgeon, used to spend hours practising tying knots with one hand when he was
training :)
