Hi,
I am new to the board but have some questions.

About 6 month ago I visited my parents and was told my dad had been diagnosed with diabetes, my aunt a nurse said i should also get checked because I am fat.

I have episodes at work were i feel faint, sweaty and my hands tremble. I have a quick snack and feel fine, these are sporadic and not very often.

Today i felt i had a similar feeling but was alot worse, so i have phoned the doctors to get tested. The appointment isn't for 2 weeks.
Also this morning i had a red bloody toilet poo. I have these about once a month and ignore them. Could the two be connected and should i have mentioned this when i was on the phone to the receptionist?

Sorry if this has been covered before or if i am in the wrong forum etc.

You’ve done the right thing in making an appointment to see your doctor. Tell them everything.

Good luck.

Hello @SuperbTed and welcome

If you didn’t mention the blood in your stools when you made the appointment, I’d suggest calling and having the appointment brought forward. There may be nothing in it, but symptoms like that should be checked sooner rather than later.

Whilst that doesn't sound related at all, it does sound like something you really should have mentioned as they might want to see you asap about that.

Hi,

Blood in stools or urine are two symptoms that should never be ignored. So I am very glad that you have made an appointment on those grounds alone.

As for the other symptoms, yes, please discuss those with your doc when you see them, and I am sure that they will run some tests.

If you do get a diagnosis of diabetes, or test results that come back in the pre-diabetes zone, then this forum is a great place for you to discover how to manage things, in a supportive, helpful atmosphere.

Good luck with the appt. :)

Hi @SuperbTed ,

Welcome to the forum.

You've done the right thing with regards to getting checked out by the doc.
We can't diagnose your syptoms, but we can empower you with relivant experince once you officially know what you are dealing with.

Wishing you all the best.!

Welcome to the forum - can I suggest you write everything down to take to the doctors - it’s so easy to forget important stuff when you get in the room! Mine always looks at me in horror when I turn up with an agenda like it’s a business meeting, but it’s so useful. They can keep it to attach to your records as well, so things stand less of a chance of getting missed. All the best x
