This basically was regarding my thyroid but he's very opened minded. I raised the issue of the LCHF diet and he said whereas it might he beneficial to obese/overweight diabetics in my case as a slim person on insulin I would run the risk of developing ketones with the high fat! However I think he might have thought i was Type 1 as he mentioned that my pancreas is producing antibodies which in fact it isn't.
I am very confused! Are all people here on the LFHF diet obese/overweight or are there exceptions?
I am Type 2 on Lantus, 7 units. Nothing else I have always been slim. He was there to talk about my excellent thyroid results, not my diabetes. I have another specialist for this within the same department.
Thank you! My diabetic specialist failed to notice my poor thyroid results and weight loss last year. It was my CP who noticed it and was furious with him!
Hi @asparagusp If it was me, I'd just check what he meant about the antibodies (because else I'd worry and it would play on my mind) Was he suggesting you had LADA? Or was he muddled? Can you check your Endo notes to make sure?
Thanks azure. I take on board what you say. My original question was are there any inherently slim people here following the LCHF diet with success of otherwise.
I'm not slim but in lchf section of forum they use for weight management. @Kristin251 is slim and uses lchf diet. Thanks azure. I take on board what you say. My original question was are there any inherently slim people here following the LCHF diet with success of otherwise.
I'm tempted to say "if it ant broke don't fix it".My endocrinologist discusses me with my Diabetologist. However he might not have recently as tests in July proved I was Type 2.
My concern really is about my diet and whether I should follow LCHF. I eat on balance low carbohydrates and medium fat at the moment.
I can think of many slim T2 LCHF ppl who post here regularly.

Many, many people find that they lose any weight they need to, then continue with LCHF because it makes them feel so well, and is so enjoyable.
I am thinking of @debrasue @NoCrbs4Me and @hankjam
Then there are the many who used the forum but have now gone on to pastures new, who found that LCHF was the main tool that helped them do that. I could keep mentioning those names all day!
Thanks azure. I take on board what you say. My original question was are there any inherently slim people here following the LCHF diet with success of otherwise.
