Just been put on victoza 2 days a go read the patient info leaflet thing read about one very nasty side effect melodic something thyroid cancer......ouch what to do? It's been good for my bg I'm down to 9.odd from 14+ but this cancer thing is really frightening me any suggestions

As with all medications there are risks. As far as I can tell, the particular type of thyroid cancer you mention has been causally linked in animal models only This extract discusses a human case but does not ascribe the cancer to liraglutide use. Hope this helps but if anxiety is creeping in it would be worthwhile speaking to your GP. There are other drugs that might help such as exanatide or dapagliflozin.
