Do you like a lot of different meat?I don't like a lot of different vegetables.
Are you struggling because you are hungry? Sensibly according to who? If you cut carbs (great idea) then you still need energy and doing low fat at the same time is likely to leave you hungry. Fat really isn’t the demon it’s been made out to be and doesn’t have to be excessive , just not low.Hi Rachox, don't know if I am being hard on myself or not but just feel so stupid over the issue. I am due a review in June. looks like it will be a bit early. I was intending to call the diabetes nurse today but I did not have chance.
I am eating less, way less than I used to eat and eating sensibly, trying to keep the carb & fat intake down, trying to cut out bread to just a max of 4 slices a week (and that is normally brown whole grain style bread) trying to have smaller portions. One issue I have is that I have a small range of food, I don't like a lot of different vegetables.
Went of a refresher course earlier in the year which is where I found out about Trulicity. I know the one big area for me is exercise and it is something I am trying to correct that but at present it is just not happening. I really wish I knew the answer

I wasn’t suggesting you were or should stuff fast food. Sensible accordingly to many sources includes a lot of carbs which are absolutely not good for a type 2 diabetic. I’ll add a few links that describe what works for many of us. Fundamentally it’s low carbs, for some of us very low. Then to counteract the loss of energy from these we increase fats which don’t effect blood sugars. Once blood sugars are under control the weight almost always follows.OK let me rephrase, I don't stuff my face with McDonald, KFC, biscuits, fizzy drink etc. I try to eat sensible food and sensible amounts, obviously some part of my sensible eating is not working.
I am a stress eater, when stressed I eat. I have been known to eat an entire (big) packet of chocolate digestive biscuits.
For some reason I can’t open your attachment. Rice can be every bit as bad if not worse for some diabetics. Rice, pasta, potatoes, bread, cereals, oats, grains are the most common things that need ditching or seriously limiting. Generally I drop the potato (or rice or pasta) and have more of the meat and veg. The plate looks a little odd to begin with but you soon get used to it..Here is a list of the foods I will eat (attached), no way is it the complete list but covers the marjority of what I eat . I miss bread, and have yet to find a replacement, I have tried various crispbreads etc. tried Bergen bread and those GI rolls from Lidls but have found that bread is just a weight around my waist hence the reason I only have a couple of slices a week. I also find it difficult to have an evening meal that does not include potato (unless I am having rice).
On the upside I managed to get to drop into the doctors on the way home and have left a message for the diabetes nurse to contact me and then see where thing go from there.
