Hi,im Val aged 57 and have only recently dagnosed as T2 purely by accident. I was having bloods taken for another reason ande they realised I had a BG30.The worrying thing tho apart from the3 litres of water i was drinking every day and the weight loss. I never gave diabetes a thought. What really worried me tho was
the fact that i had no other symptoms. No one has told me what could have happened if it went untreated. I dont know about others but i have had very little help or advice.I have bought a book and a cook book which was very helpful. It gives advice and recipies .

What really concerns me is the conflicting advice on the web. I am also puzzled at my BG levels. On a morning first thing it is high, over 10, but on an evening tends to be 7 -9. Only once has it got down to 5,5.I dont know what im doing wrong.I would have thought the morning would be lower.

Finally should i be contacting the GP as they are still above normal, but i feel ok.

Sorry for going on a bit im so confused and have loads more questions, but you would fall asleep b4 you got to the end

Hi Val and welcome to the forum.
It is a bit of a minefield when first diagnosed. Have you been given any diet advice along with your meter and test strips?
Have a good look around the forum and ask any questions you need to. Nothing considered silly here, we all had to start somewhere.
There is some very good information released to newly diagnosed from the Monitors and you can find it in some of the posts in the Greetings and Introductions.
