Hi Everyone,

Im only 3 weeks gone and my sugars are bananas!!! Does anyone have any advice on how to keep in range with hormones being less than helpful?

Ive been high (8-13) consistently and slowly upped my basal and taken extra novorapid but it isnt working. Ive literally just found out today so Im worried about the damage Im doing!!!!

Hi Lynz. Firstly, congratulations on your pregnancy.

I'm afraid I know little about pregnancy, never might T1 pregnancy, but from reading on here, I understand that as a T1 you should be referred to a specialist team asap. I know it's only today you found out, but maybe call your usual clinic and let them know. Hopefully someone would give you a few pointers.

The only thing I can say is fairly regularly there are folks arriving here with unexpected pregnancies will high A1cs and readings who have a trouble-free outcome.

Please don't panic. The additional stress won't help with the numbers. I totally accept those are easier words to say than live.

Hi @Lynz84 and congratulations.

My experience of T1 pregnancies is wildly out of date (my youngest is 27) but you absolutely need to ring your doctor/team asap to get referred to a diabetic antenatal clinic. They should see you immediately (hopefully) and will be able to do things like give you folic acid (important) and help with your levels.

Good luck.
