Hi Everyone

Im from New Zealand, 38, Mother of 2, and just stumbled across this website.....and its fantastic, cant find anything like this in NZ, have been reading the Forums and am really excited that other people are in the same boat as me! have been feeling a bit left in the cold as i dont know anyone else who is type 2 so i really dont have anyone to ask advice....im finding the whole diabetes thing scary, but im also looking forward to taking care of my body and loosing weight. :D
 
Hi Angela! You are most definitely not on your own here! Everyone is pretty helpful and friendly. Have a nose around, ask any questions and give us the benefit of your experiences. We can all help each other :D
 
hi angela like you recently diagnosed found it confusing and scary but opinions and advice here is great and very friendly :D
 
Hello Angela and welcome to the forum :) I am a type 2 too and there are lots of us here to be your friends and to help you in what you want to know. Just ask your questions and someone will answer with what you need to know.

I've just joined too.
Was diagnosed with type 2 about a month ago and am very confused by conflicting info.

Asked my doctor about monitoring and he gave me urine strips but after reading here I'll buy a monitor and see if he'll prescribe strips - as I'd like to check what I can and can't eat.
