I am really, scared just now. I called today for an emergency appointment at my local surgery because of weird pains and things I have been getting, burning in the stomach and pains in the kidneys. I was told by the triage nurse on the phone that she would treat me for a urine infection. I explained that I thought that it was something more and that It may be a side effect of my medication. Only then did she say "Oh, it looks like there is a lot going on with you, you have high blood pressure and diabetes...?" She then decided to have a word with my doc and call me back. When she called back she had gotten me an appointment with my doctor tomorrow.

I am just getting so frustrated. I can FEEL something going on inside me, my BS has mostly been under 10 and I am just scared in case they just prick my finger, say I am fine and shuffle me on my merry way - like usual.

That is another 2 days I have had to take off work. I am beginning to fear for my job (trust me if they want rid of you they will find a way) and I am fed up feeling like my body is turning against me.

I am fed up with the 'Here try this pill, oh, that's not working, here try this pill' attitude. I NEED something that works and can let me at least have half a life. THat has been almost half a year they have spend pissing about with meds. I am practically starving myself and scared to eat anything!

I don't think I am coping very well...

Keep posting so that we can support you in whatever way we can.
Don't assume, and don't let the doctor assume, that it is necessarily something to do with your diabetes. It may be, or it may be something else. Can you think clearly about what your symptoms are and when they started, then write down the details to take to your doctor. Otherwise all your worries are going to side-track you and you are going to try and self-diagnose. Let us know how you get on.

If the pain gets worse then ring your gp surgery and say you want seen asap, or ask them to do a home visit if your not able to leave the house.

I think I will have to start writing everything down. I just feel rubbish all the time. I don't know if it is just me, side effects, my diabetes... ugh!! It's so frustrating sometimes when all you want is an answer. :(

Sympathy and empathy.
Until my diagnosis, the number of times I was told my diabetes was causing all my problems, went through 5 GPs, and kept telling them it was something else as well as my diabetic symptoms.
At last after a few years I was referred to an endocrinologist.
GPs are not specialists, most haven't got a clue, ask for a referral. Go armed with your symptoms wrote down and also what you would like to see happen next.

Best wishes.

I went. I got a change of blood pressure meds and I was told it was because the meds had been making me cough it had cause my belly to hurt. Because I have had the cough for more than a month I had to go and get my chest X-Rayed. I will get the results in 10 days. My pain in what I thought was my kidney is too low for my kidney so it is unknown that it may be.

Glad for you! Hopefully they can sort it out! Let us know how you get on!

Do you feel a bit less agitated about it all now? How about some thoughts on eating? What can you manage?

Still agitated... I have that 'I want this to go away' feeling, but time will tell...

Keep writing stuff down, try to eat and drink, and focus on short-term easy things that you can tick off as achievements, until you get the results of the x-ray. Then tell us, and take it from there.
