the confusion about what and what not to eat, provided by others who know it all!
I'm Type 1, have been for 18m now, I usually have about 150g carbs per day, and My Hba1c was 7 last check. I am struggling with overnight/morning highs ( 9 -10's) and would like to try some low carbing to see if it helps. I Know it must help as I've read all your posts and it all seems amazing.
BUT, how do you eat low carb stuff all the time???? I Love Muesli for breakfast and bolus 5u for that, I just can't bring myself to have eggs or anything else for breakfast, lunches, I'm ok, I usually have ham, or cheese, egg salads anyway, with fruit and yogurt. I can't give up yogurt :( It's the late dinner I struggle with, I mostly end up with cheese or egg on toast, or sometimes if I fancy a small piece of pizza. I love chicken too, and have that several times a week,. I just need a little advice as to how to cut down. I am not overweight, but I wouldn't mind loosing a little more here and there, and I'm sure if I try hard enough I can get my Hba1c down more.
Just need a little advice and encouragement. :?

Hi susieg I'm a newbie here and a type 2 but have been low carbing for two years. I would suggest that you Google Dr Richard Bernstein who is type 1 himself and look at his websites (he has three). Also, if you can get hold of The Diabetes Revolution by British doctor Dr Charles Clark that will take you through low carbing and lowering your insulin step by step. Just doing low carbing without adjusting insulin to match, could induce hypos and also stop you losing weight.

Hopefully there are some low carbing insulin users around who'll post further advice as well :)
