Hi all,
Just wondering about this ............ When I was diagnosed 3 weeks ago as T2, my main complaint (and what got me to the doc in the first place) was a VERY dry mouth, especially in the morning. It felt like I had dehydrated during the night and the feeling was there throughout the day, as if struggling to hydrate again.
When I spoke to the doc and he told me I was officially T2, he said that the dryness should go, when changing diet. On a low carb diet and indeed the dry/dehydrated feeling went away in the first two weeks.
However, now it seems to be coming back - started yesterday morning and had the same slight feeling this morning.
I am doing around 30g Carbs a day and getting 3 great meals and two small snacks and am not feeling hungry at all. I am not feeling light-headed (well I am, but because of the wine which I am not used to!!) - I exercise about 6 miles a day (1x4 miles and 1x2 miles) by brisk walking.
Until today I used to have 1 or 2 plain digestives with some cheese around 9pm as my only concession to the "processed flour rule" and I am just wondering if perhaps the relative high carb would be an influence? I will usually do some light floor exercise around 11pm, about 1 hour before going to bed.
Before you ask, no I do not know my Bg numbers as I do not have a meter - I do have an appointment with the doc on Thursday and hope to gain his support to get one. Unfortunately I cannot afford to buy my own with the cost of test strips/lancets, so unless I have the doc's support I am "stuffed" in that direction.
But I just wondered if any of you had experience with relatively high carb at night and symphtomatic in the morning??
Or do you think my Carb intake is too low my daily doings/exercise?
Thanks
Alice
