Keep doing what you're doing

Forgive me if I'm missing something, we are diabetic and eating whatever we want at Christmas is lunacy in my opinion, it's self destructive, if I had a peanut allergy I wouldn't eat peanuts because it's christmas, if I were a recovering alcoholic I wouldn't drink because it's christmas, if I had high bp, no I shouldnt take the pils because I hate taking pills and it is Christmas after all?, diabetics cannot or should not eat what they want at any time, we have been given a gift, this gift is the ability to help ourselves by not eating what we want, don't waste the opportunity by eating harmful foods.

With a hba1c of 107 you need to drastically reduce your carbohydrates, your health care professional is a moron! "You still need to have a life" ? Complete lunacy! Your need to have a life is the exact reason you can't eat whatever you want at Christmas

All opinion

I have a similar scriptwriter to @Andy12345.
Though his is more eloquent. Mine would have said, "Take no notice of the medical professional who said you can eat what you want because you still have to have a life. You will have a life if you eat what you want. A shorter, unhealthy life".

So pleased for you!
Ace results.
:D

On the subject of Xmas indulgences, I'm all for it.
But I know that if I let rip, particularly on wheat, grains and sugar, I would struggle to get back on the wagon.
It isn't the few days of delicious treats I need to worry about.
Or even the ridiculously raised BGs.
It's the agonising crawl through carb cravings trying to get back on the straight and narrow.
A few days of fun could take months of 'I'll start tomorrow...' Before I regain the lost ground.
Those food and drink indulgences are not worth the months of trying to get back on track. Also, I don't like the way those indulgences make me feel so ill.

Healthy indulgences are what I will be imbibing.
