I live in a bungalow with a south-west facing back and garden and nowhere is particularly cool. My hallway at the moment (11.20am) is 28C. My understanding is that I cannot put them back into the fridge between doses once they have been started. This weather affects my body badly as it is and I do not want my meds going off.
Thank you. Jude 8)

Hiya, I use the FRIO keep cool bags, perfect for storing all my victoza and insulin pens in n it keeps them cool for 48hrs then just redo the bags in water again, dry off n restore in the FRIO bag . Ideal to take out with you also. Cooled temperature maintained perfectly.... Anna.x

Getting a set of these this week, in preparation for our trip to Hawaii.

DIY evaporation cooler

1) Tupperware box or tin box with lid for your goods
2)Wicker basket or plastic washing basket with holes
3)Towels to wrap around Tupperware box
4)water
5)large tray

Place goods in Tupperware box wrap Tupperware box with 1<>2 large towels
place in wicker basket pour cold water over towels until holds no more water
place wicker basket in shade with a draft better still if you can place in shallow tray
of water will save you from topping up with water as often
if no draft can place electric fan in front of wicker basket

If you add the fan its called a swamp cooler

Remember to keep towels wet

Try it works very well will keep butter and milk fresh
Handy for power cuts and camping ,,Something for kids to build in summer hols

Dont try and take this on the plane will deff get the hump with you

Jude, Frio cool bags are highly recommended for keeping insulin cool in warm weather, they are a little pricey though but well worth the money.

Thank you all for your replies. I chose to buy a Desang case when I was on Byetta only as that didnt need the same cooling as insulin, now on both me thinks I need to splash out again - my sister wanted to know what to buy me for my birthday last week!!

Hey Jude
Good advice from the previous answers but there is really no need to go to the trouble and expense of buying stuff. I live in a South facing flat and at times the temperature can rocket until I switch the air-con on !

It is extremes of temperature high and freezing which will kill off Byetta and insulin. Both have similar rules for storage and use. So long as neither go above 25 deg C or below 2 deg C in use they will be perfectly fine......

I pop mine in the door of the fridge if the room temp is too high. It doesn't harm either drug. Just remember to take it out about an hour before use as if they are cold they can sometimes sting !
