So I've been managing my T2 diabetes with low carb diet and 2*500mg of Metformin. I'm wearing the Abbott freestyle libre.
Blood sugar ok, last week was 6.3 mmol/l average.
I just started using the carb manager app. I'm trying to keep my grams of carbs below 24g a week. It's been fine this week, average 20g. Average cals 1760 a day. I've just been counting carbs not cals btw.
But what I was a bit concerned by was the fats and protein average - 121g protein and 135g fats.
Presumably I should up the fats and decrease the protein??

If you're controlling your sugar levels, and your weight is doing what you want, ie static, losing or gaining. And not feeling hungry, then don't fret carry on as you are. It is obviously working.

I never really count my other macros- I count every carb but don’t bother with anything else, I do keep my eye on my dairy intake especially cheese as I can gain if I eat too many fats from dairy, other fats are ok with me.

If what you are doing is working for you then I wouldn’t worry about it. Carbs are the important thing

If you're achieving the results you want, then you are getting things right for you.

Like @lovinglife , I basically watch my carbs and heed my body regarding protein and fats. There are general guidelines regarding how much protein we may need, which you could use as a double check, but I've always eaten around the same amount as always, ketosis or not. Both carbs and fats/ketones provide energy, and replacing carbs with fat as our main fuel source helps control our glucose levels, but this doesn't require any special "keto" rules - hunger, or lack of it, tells me if I'm eating enough fatty fuel.

@Angelofthemarches , someone very wise once said that we should moderate our carbs to satisfy our blood glucose numbers, and moderate the fats to satisfy the bathroom scales.

Obviously, it makes sense to ensure your annual bloods are looking OK, and listen to your body. If you are feeling well and doing well as you are, why tweak with something going well.
