Hi, so i have ketones, brill! How do i get rid of them before i hop to the hospital? Do you recommend i stay at home until they have gone? Blood sugars are pretty high today. Few hours away from my last meal, 16.5. High for me anyway. Cheers

What is your ketone level? Drink lots of water while you decide what to do.

Good, while that's high, it's not super high. You did the right thing testing for ketones. Hopefully they will come down through drinking lots of water. Do call 111 for advice, and keep testing.

I'm always saddened to hear that HCPs have not given someone info in advance about what to do when ketones are high. I think they should give this info. Fortunately the DCUK website can help:
